Reptile expert Brian Barczyk filmed the ut snakes, named Ben and Jerry, two mice, and hish video has gone viral since then.
He posted it on Instagram with the caption, “So my two-headed snake Ben and Jerry are both hot right now. Not always do they eat at the same time. time actually, in this case both of them are ᴇᴀtɪɴɢ each side.”
The brown and yellow snake is observed leisurely consuming baby mice, but as it only has one digestive system, some viewers questioned whether it would choke on the meal.
One devoted admirer remarked, “If you watch his vlog, he adds that one of them, Jerry, won’t eat unless Ben has previously t, and Ben does most of the t, but he tried to get Jerry involved as well.”
Someone else wrote: “It is insane!” Can’t wait to return to Michigan and explore the area!” A third said, “Could someone please explain the origin of a two-headed snake? “How could this utt even occur?”
The snake has a disorder known as, which is caused by the incomplete division of an embryo. Ben and Jerry are one of an estimated 10,000 snakes with the illness, which is unusual.
Ben and Jerry appear to be an exception to the rule that most snakes with this illness do not su for long. Barczyk stated that 99.9% of two-headed animals do not live to see their first birthday, but once they reach adulthood, like Ben and Jerry have, they typically live a long and healthy life.
Barczyk estimates the animal’s lifespan to be between 20 and 25 years and explains that they can eat independently yet share the same digestive system.

Barczyk, who works at a reptile zoo in Michigan, USA, reportedly purchased the snake from a friend.
